According to a report in TEAMtalk, Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah will look to leave in 2024 due to the lack of opportunities in the Blues’ first team.

The defender picked up a hamstring injury in August and since then, he’s been on the sidelines trying to make a full recovery. He’s yet to feature for Chelsea this season and as per the report, Chalobah does not feature in Pochettino’s long-term plans either.

Also, the Chelsea manager currently has Thiago Silva, Fofana, Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Levi Colwill and Malang Sarr in his squad which means Chalobah is way down the pecking order.

He’s played 63 games for Chelsea across all competitions and last season he started 25 Premier League games but unfortunately, this injury has really pushed him back several steps.

His contract with the Blues expires in 2028 so the club’s in no hurry in selling him but Pochettino will not stand in his way if a club is ready to pay up. The 24-year-old had a price tag of £50 million a few months ago and with several big teams interested in signing him, we doubt if Chelsea will lower their demands.

Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel has seen Trevoh Chalobah during his time at Stamford Bridge which is why he wants to bring him to the Allianz Arena next year. And now, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have also shown an interest in the defender.

Jose Mourinho is another manager who is keeping tabs on Chalobah so once the 2023/24 season comes to a close, Roma will also jump in.

If Chalobah does not get to play too many games this season Chelsea will have to drop their asking price but even if they can bag around £35-40 million for Chalobah, it will be a job well done.

Chelsea won’t mind whether Trevoh Chalobah joins a Premier League rival or moves out of England but as far as the player is concerned, he will want to remain in the EPL, now that Spurs and West Ham are keen to land him.

If these two London sides can secure European football for the next season, then they will be in contention to sign the central defender. Chalobah is a product of the Chelsea academy and apart from a few loan spells, he’s spent all his career in England so it makes sense for him to remain in London.

Chelsea have zero use of Trevoh Chalobah and with so many defenders already in their squad, it’s hard to see the defender remaining at Stamford Bridge before the summer of 2024.
