Bernardo Silva wanted by Barcelona

Barcelona have been continuously linked with Bernardo Silva and now, there are fresh rumours that Xavi’s side will try and sign him if they can offload Ousmane Dembele to PSG.

PSG were interested in signing Silva but Manchester City have been a tough nut to crack. The Premier League champions have rejected several approaches from PSG and in the end, they have set their demands to a staggering €100 million.

This is where the French side lost interest and then shifted their emphasis to Dembele and this possible transfer has opened the doors for Barcelona to go after Bernardo Silva.

Bernardo Silva has seen unmatched success at MCFC winning multiple EPL titles and also the Champions League but the midfielder has been wanting to leave for more than a year. He has his eyes set on a move to Barcelona and if the Blaugrana can bring in some money from Dembele’s sale then his dream could turn into a reality in the coming weeks.

Will Barcelona find success in their pursuit of Bernardo Silva?

Pep Guardiola, in a recent interview, claimed that a few players’ futures are still uncertain but if the latest updates are to be believed then the manager is not interested in selling Bernardo Silva.

“It’s a question of numbers — how many names you have in the squad,” Pep Guardiola said during the weekend.

“We will see if we need wingers or players inside, we will see what happens with loan players, which players stay here or not. A few things are going to happen.”

MCFC have lost Gundogan and Mahrez this summer which is why they are not keen to offload Silva in the same transfer window.

Barcelona won’t necessarily get too much money from Dembele’s sale but they will be able to get the Frenchman off their books which will give them the courage to place a bid for Bernardo Silva.

Manchester City have placed a €100 million price tag specifically so that the big European clubs stay away and if Guardiola is refusing to sell the midfielder then we don’t think his board will have the courage to put him up for sale.

Barcelona have been long-term admirers of the Portugal international but two months have passed since the transfer window opened and they are yet to make any formal contact with Manchester City. They initially got excited when there were hopes of a loan deal with an obligation to buy but ever since MCFC have rejected that proposal, Barca are just waiting in the wings.

PSG have not activated the La Liga clause for Dembele but talks are still on between the two clubs. Barcelona want to offload the Frenchman but if they agree to this new way then they will get only €50m for Dembele and there’s no way they will be able to use this money to go after Bernardo Silva.
