Chelsea have signed left-back Ben Chilwell from Leicester City, the London side officially announced on Wednesday evening.
The Blues in an official statement said: “Ben Chilwell has today become a Blue with the left-back signing a five-year contract.
“The England international joins us from Leicester City, the club where he began his professional career.”
While Ben Chilwell was one of the best players for Brendan Rodgers’ side last season but he missed the final few weeks of the Premier League campaign due to a heel injury and is yet to be fully fit.
Some reports have claimed that the player might not be fit in time for the new season of the Premier League and will have to sit out the first few games.
But now speaking after his unveiling, Ben Chilwell hinted that he has made pretty decent progress in the road to his recovery.
‘I’m feeling really good,’ the defender told the club’s official website.

‘The injury is healing really well and I’ve been doing a lot of fitness work over the past four or five weeks.’
Chelsea take on Brighton and Hove Albion in their 2020/21 season opener and it’s still unclear if Ben Chilwell will be fit in time for this match or not.
But we do not think Frank Lampard will want to take any unnecessary risks with the left-back in the very first match week of the campaign.
