Manchester United have officially signed Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon – the club have confirmed.

After almost of year of chasing, United have finally got their man during the final week of the January transfer window and this deal could not have come at a better time now that Nemanja Matic will miss the Wolves match.

Speaking after the signing, Solskjaer said of Bruno Fernandes: “We have been tracking Bruno for many months and everyone here has been tremendously impressed with all his attributes and what he will bring to this team.

“Most importantly he is a terrific human being with a great personality and his leadership qualities are clear for all to see.

“Bruno’s goals and assists stats speak for themselves, he will be a fantastic addition to our team and he will help us push on in the second part of the season. The winter break is coming at a perfect time for us to integrate Bruno into the squad and for him to get to know his team-mates.”

Right now what everyone has been asking is whether Bruno Fernandes will be named in the starting XI against Wolves this weekend in the Premier League.

And the Man United manager was asked this very same question on Wednesday night to which he had replied: “Let’s get the contract signed and medical done but the boy is fit and ready to play, I would presume. Let’s see if we can get it done tomorrow.

”I know, if we get Bruno over the line, he’ll score and create. Let’s talk on Friday [the last day of the transfer window].“

So there’s a 100 per cent chance that Bruno Fernandes will make his debut for Manchester United this weekend at Old Trafford more so since this is the middle of the season and the midfielder is completely match-fit.

Bruno Fernandes will be playing just in the playmaker’s role meaning Jesse Lingard will have to make way for the new signing.
