According to the Daily Telegraph, Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes will be the subject of transfer interest from Manchester City and Arsenal.

Bruno Guimaraes joined Newcastle United in January of 2022 and the last thing the Magpies will want is to lose him after just one full season. However, Eddie Howe’s team are very close to an FFP breach which will force the club to sell some important players in the summer.

Alexander Isak and Guimaraes are supposedly the two untouchables in the squad but the latter has a £100 million release clause in his contract and this could prove to be Newcastle’s undoing at the end of the season.

Arsenal and Manchester City are both prioritising the signing of a new midfielder and with the kind of impact that Bruno Guimaraes has had, these clubs won’t mind spending such a steep amount.

The Brazilian international is primarily a central midfielder but this season, he’s played as a defensive block for Newcastle United. Despite playing as an anchor, he’s still managed 12 goal contributions in 44 appearances which is highly impressive.

At Arsenal, he can be the ideal replacement for Thomas Partey who is going to leave the club in the summer and at Manchester City, he will also be welcomed with open arms because the Cityzens are planning to sell Kavlin Phillips and possibly Matheus Nunes.

Man City and Arsenal will be very confident of landing the midfielder but in the end, PSG might have the last laugh because the Parisian outfit is also keeping a close eye and some reports in France claim that they will make a move for Bruno in the coming months.

Bruno Guimaraes can negotiate with Champions League clubs which is also a big boost for all the three interested teams, especially PSG because if Newcastle United do have to sell the 26-year-old, they will prefer to send him to the Ligue 1 rather than sell him to a direct English rival.

Ideally, Newcastle United will not want to lose their star midfielder but their finances are all over the place and not too many players in their squad can fetch £100 million.
