According to a report, Real Madrid are interested in holding onto Kepa Arrizabalaga which will definitely force Chelsea to try and sign Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is currently out on loan to the Bernabeu and as per the rumours, Madrid have shown a desire to make the move permanent at the end of the 2023/24 season. The Spanish keeper has featured in every league game this campaign and it looks like Carlo Ancelotti is pleased with what he’s seeing.

Chelsea had paid £71 million for him back in 2018 and while Madrid won’t pay anywhere close to that amount, the Blues will be able to bring in some finance by offloading Kepa to the Los Blancos. They will obviously have to sustain a huge loss from this move but at the same time, Boehly has to balance the books after signing several players in the summer.

Will Chelsea sign Aaron Ramsdale if Kepa remains with Real Madrid?

The Blues did bring in Roberto Sanchez from Brighton but he’s failed to settle down at the club which is why Pochettino is said to be interested in signing a new keeper. And if Real Madrid do sign Kepa on a permanent deal then surely, Chelsea will go after Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal have made David Raya their new No 1 which is why Mikel Arteta wants to cash in on Ramsdale and if Chelsea can bag around £20-25 million from Kepa’s move to Madrid then they shouldn’t have any problem in financing this transfer.

Ramsdale, initially, wanted to fight for his position but the latest reports are suggesting that the England international is now open to an exit, as early as January.

However, Real Madrid will only make up their mind next summer so if Chelsea decide to sign Aaron Ramsdale in January then they will have to pay out of their own pockets and hope the Los Blancos do not back off.

Arsenal won’t mind offloading Ramsdale during the January window but if Chelsea want to sign him then Pochettino will have to be absolutely sure. They will have to convince Aaron Ramsdale that he will be the undisputed number one at the club because the England international will join a club where he can play regularly.

Chelsea will be confident of landing the English keeper but several top European teams are keeping tabs on this situation so the Stamford Bridge outfit will have to be ready for a major transfer battle.
