Celtic FC are reportedly the frontrunners in signing Wolves winger Daniel Podence as the Premier League side look to send him out on loan in the summer.

The 24-year-old stole the show against Everton last week and as per the rumours, Nuno Espirito Santo is planning to send him out on loan in order for him to get more gametime.

Kevin Philipps believes that Wolves are planning to send Podence out on loan and according to other sources, Neil Lennon is interested to bring him to Parkhead.

Phillips told Football Insider: “He should go out on loan.

“He has enjoyed a season of being a part of what has been an amazing season for Wolves and he will have learned a lot.

“He has not played a lot of football and next season is it really going to change? Traore might be sold but it looks unlikely at this moment. I would want to play football.

“I could see that move happening but there will be a few clubs queuing up to take Podence, I am sure.”

Will Celtic be able to sign Daniel Podence?

Daniel Podence has played in just seven Premier League matches since his arrival and with the likes of Jota, Jimenez and Traore still at the club, the 24-year-old will find it hard to break into the first XI next season as well.

So a loan move is clearly on the cards but the problem for Lennon is that Celtic aren’t the only club who are queuing up to sign the winger.

A number of other English clubs are being linked with the Wolves man and we will have to wait and see if Podence is willing to move to Scotland or not.

But if the player does decide to snub the other suitors and join Celtic in the coming months then a player of his calibre will be a guaranteed starter next season.
