Chelsea are about to announce the signing of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen(when this article was written) and as per reports, West Ham United’s Declan Rice might be their next target.

The report claims: “Chelsea could push their summer spending to over £250million with the club ready to push for the signing of West Ham’s Declan Rice.

“The Blues are also set to confirm the signing of German wonderkid Kai Havertz in the coming days in a deal that could be worth around £90m, while Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr have joined in free transfers.

“And the manager isn’t planning to stop there, with Rice next on his wanted list.

“Moyes is reportedly keen to offload Felipe Anderson and Manuel Lanzini to raise some cash for new signings.

“However, there is limited interest in the two under-performing forwards, and there is a sense that cashing in on Rice may be his only option.”

Will Declan Rice join Chelsea?

Declan Rice is currently valued at around £80 million which is a hell lot of money but given the spending spree that Chelsea are on right now, nothing is beyond their reach.

The Blues have not been able to sign a new player during the past two transfer windows which is why they are bringing in so many new signings this summer and the Hammers midfielder could surely be the next in line.

Initial reports had suggested that David Moyes was not keen to part ways with Declan Rice this time around but a severe crunch of transfer funds seems to have changed the manager’s stance.

If this bit of news is true then surely Chelsea are about to be serious title contenders for the 2020/21 season of the Premier League since most of their problems from the previous season will now be sorted.

Also, if Declan Rice is about to join the Stamford Bridge outfit then mostly certainly players like Jorginho and N’Golo Kante will be shown the door pretty soon.
