Frenkie De Jong Barcelona

Premier League sides Manchester United and Arsenal want to sign Frenkie de Jong but according to Spanish outlet Sport, PSG are also interested in him.

The midfielder joined Barcelona back in 2019 for a fee of around €86 million and to date, he’s played in more than 207 games for the club across all competitions.

De Jong is perfectly happy with life at Barcelona but the Catalans want him to sign a new deal which will force him to take another pay cut and if that does not happen then the club will look to cash in on him in the summer.

Man United have been wanting to sign Frenkie de Jong for more than a year and recently, Arsenal have also shown an interest in the midfielder. Now, things are about to get interesting because PSG will also look to sign him at the end of this season.

United manager Erik ten Hag has been eager to reunite with FDJ while Mikel Arteta is looking at the 26-year-old as the long-term replacement for the injury-prone Thomas Partey.

Will PSG be able to beat Man United & Arsenal in the signing of Frenkie de Jong?

Barcelona’s financial conditions are a mess right now so they have to clear their wage bills if they want to avoid any major FFP breaches in the future. De Jong is currently the highest-earning player in the Barcelona squad and according to reports, his weekly wage is around €722,000.

The rumours are claiming that Barca will let Frenkie de Jong leave if any interested side is ready to pay around €100 million and if money is the only obstacle then PSG can easily bring him on board.

De Jong does not particularly want to leave Barcelona at the end of this season but if he is eventually forced out then the Dutch midfielder will want to join a club where he can quote a massive salary. He’s had to take several paycuts to remain at the Camp Nou but if that loyalty isn’t rewarded then he will most probably look to secure his future.

A move to either Arsenal or Manchester United will be massively helpful for his playing career but at PSG, he will not only earn handsomely but at the same time, he can win silverwares very easily.

If Frenkie de Jong is really up for sale then Man United and Arsenal will give it their all to bring him on board but with Kylian Mbappe set to leave, the Parisian outfit will be able to free up a large portion of their wage bills so they can easily offer the Barcelona midfielder mouth-watering wages.
