According to a report in TEAMtalk, Man United are interested in signing Everton duo Amadou Onana and Jarrad Branthwaite.

Man United are going to bring in some fresh faces during the upcoming summer transfer window thanks to their new minority owners and the Red Devils are looking to raid the Goodison Park locker room with both these players ranking high on Ten Hag’s wishlist.

After a 10-point deduction, Everton are scraping the bottom of the Premier League table and they might have to sell a few of their star players to avoid any further punishments.

Amadou Onana and Jarrad Branthwaite are two of the star players for Everton and the club has valued them at £80 million each. Both of their contracts expire in 2027 but apart from Man United, several other major clubs are interested in signing them so the Toffees will most likely cash in on them at the end of this season.

Onana has been with Everton for two seasons and this campaign, he has featured in 19 Premier League games for the club. He has made 2.5 tackles and 0.5 interceptions in the 1444 minutes of league football he’s played.

The 22-year-old is courted by several major European clubs and Man United reportedly want him to be the long-term partner to Kobbie Mainoo. Casemiro and McTominay are both likely to leave in the summer and the Everton midfielder has all the attributes of being a regular at Old Trafford.

The other player on Manchester United’s radar is Jarrad Branthwaite as the centre-back position is another area that needs strengthening.

Victor Lindelof, Evans and Raphael Varane are all going to be let go so Erik ten Hag has to bring in at least two centre-backs before the 2024/25 season begins. Harry Maguire has turned around his career but there are still major doubts that the England international can be the long-term partner to Lisandro Martinez.

Jarrad Branthwaite is a product of the Everton academy and he spent the last season out on loan to PSV Eindhoven and right now, he’s a regular starter under Sean Dyche.

In 22 league appearances this season, the defender has made 1.8 interceptions along with 0.8 blocked shots per 90 minutes and because he’s just 21 years old, Branthwaite can be a long-term asset for Man United.

The new INEOS owners are willing to inject fresh funds to help Erik ten Hag rebuild his squad and the manager has a very clear vision of what he wants to do. A major dressing room clearout is expected in the summer so even the ETH will be able to generate funds to help the cause.
