As per The Athletic, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Gabriel Jesus with the hopes of signing him during the summer transfer window.

In the summer, Jesus will be entering the final year of his contract so he will be available for cheap and as of now, Arsenal’s technical director Edu and Jesus’s representatives have been talking for months over a potential move.

The media recently asked Gabriel Jesus about Arsenal’s interest in him but the Brazilian denied to talk about it, claiming that his whole focus is on the current season.

“Not time to think about this,” Jesus responded when asked about Arsenal’s interest. “You expect me to say this and it’s true.

“Not time to think about this, now is the best moment of the season. I want to enjoy it, keep focused on my teammates to fight for the Premier League.

“It’s not just me (who wants to play more), the players. If you ask the players about playing everyone wants to play.”

Will Gabriel Jesus agree to join Arsenal in the summer?

Gabriel Jesus has always been the backup striker at Man City and despite City failing to sign a striker this season, Jesus is still not getting consistent game time.

To make matters worse, City are trying to sign Erling Haaland in the summer and once that deal is done then Jesus will fall further down the pecking order so it makes complete sense for him to join Arsenal.

Auba had left and Lacazette is also expected to leave at the end of the season which means the Man City misfit can become the undisputed centre-forward at the Emirates next season.

The report claims that the 25-year-old is open to joining Arsenal and this particular deal can very much see the light of the day, that too pretty early on in the transfer window.

Will Pep allow Gabriel Jesus to leave?

Guardiola has managed to use Jesus very tactfully but once Haaland arrives, the manager will be more than happy to let him leave.

As things stand, the 25-year-old won’t sign a new deal at the Etihad so it makes even more sense for Manchester City to cash in on him by letting him join Arsenal.

City paid £27 million for Gabriel Jesus and his current market value is around £45 million but with just one year left on his contract, there’s no way Man City will be able to get anywhere close to his current market value.
