Right before the Euros started, forward Harry Kane had dropped a hint that he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The forward had another stellar season with Spurs but he made it clear that he wishes to compete with the best and at the same time win silverware, something which might not be possible at Spurs for some time.

Spurs are in a mess right now and their current state of affairs if evident from the fact that they have taken ages to appoint a successor to Jose Mourinho.

The North London side, after much debacle, have finally managed to name a new manager in the form of Nuno Espirito Santo and according to Alan Hutton, the new boss could be key to convincing Harry Kane to remain at the club.

“Daniel Levy doesn’t want to sell him cheap,” Hutton told Football Insider.

“Obviously the manager is going to sit him down and say you’re my main man, a future captain if you stay.

“He’s going to tell him all he wants to hear, long story short. It’s whether they can actually come through and make that happen.

“If you’re Harry Kane, you’re sitting down with the manager saying who are we bringing in? That would be my first question. You’re telling me we’re going to go for top four, going to come up against the big teams. What players are we bringing in to make that happen?

“There are some big questions that I think both sides will want to know the answer to.“

Will Harry Kane ditch the idea of leaving Tottenham Hotspur?

Harry Kane will have to be convinced that the club are willing to spend money during the summer to be able to rebuild the squad and challenge for the Premier League next season.

But, so far, there’s no real urgency from Spurs in the transfer market.

Yes, the North London side have been linked with a plethora of players over the past month but most of them are either relatively unknown or they are bargain buys.

Tottenham are yet to show any serious interest in a world-class player and if they fail to bring in some new top players then we don’t think Nuno will be able to convince Harry Kane to stay.

Obviously, Levy will have the final call in terms of a transfer but the last thing he will want is for his star player to be dissatisfied, something which might impact his form next season.
