As the end of the 2023/24 season approaches, it is anticipated that Ivan Toney will depart from Brentford and with each passing day, the number of admirers for the striker continues to grow.

Toney returned from his ban in January but because his contract expires in 2025, the Bees are trying really hard to tie him down to a new deal. However, it’s highly unlikely that the forward will remain at the club beyond the summer because four of the biggest Premier League clubs wish to bring him on board.

Arsenal and Chelsea have had a long-standing interest in Ivan Toney but according to Journalist Dean Jones, even Spurs wish to sign the English forward.

Dean Jones recently said: “The first thing to look for with Toney is whether or not he does actually sign a new contract. There’s been a lot of talk around it. But so far, there’s nothing in place for him to actually do that. And then all the talk around the new contract was that would include a release clause, which would need to be triggered in the summer for somebody to sign him.

“Now at the moment with that not in place, it obviously seems more feasible that Toney is attainable in the summer. I think there are a lot of clubs that genuinely are looking at Toney, I think that Arsenal and Chelsea are the two main ones.

“In the background, Tottenham and even Manchester United are having a look just in case the situation could change in a way that suits them.”

Ange Postecoglou brought in Timo Werner earlier this month, the RB Leipzig man is only on loan so might not turn out to be the permanent striking solution for Tottenham.

The Lilywhites are still looking for a long-term replacement for Harry Kane and according to the rumours, Ange wants Ivan Toney to be that man.

The 23/24 season was a stellar campaign for Toney wherein he scored 21 goals in 35 appearances for Brentford and he has all the attributes to replace Kane but we doubt if he will want to join Spurs over Arsenal.

Chelsea have their sights set on Victor Osimhen so Ivan Toney is their backup plan but Arsenal are very much interested in the 27-year-old and the transfer experts believe Toney prefers a move to the Emirates Stadium. Osimhen is said to be interested in a move to Stamford Bridge and unless this move fails, Chelsea won’t shift their focus to the Brentford man.

Bayern paid €95 million to secure the signing of Harry Kane, indicating that money won’t be an issue for Tottenham. However, Arsenal currently stands as a more well-rounded team. They are on track to secure Champions League football for the next season and are actively competing for the EPL title. Considering these factors, it’s evident that Toney would likely choose Arsenal over Spurs.
