Aston Villa have been without defender James Chester since January but it looks like the 30-year-old has finally made a full recovery.

Chester picked up a knee injury back in January and then during the pre-season training he suffered a hamstring problem.

It has been a long road to recovery for the central defender but he is finally back to full fitness having played the full 90 minutes for the Under-23s against Newcastle United.

Aston Villa have made a pretty decent start to their new campaign and next up they hit the road in order to take on Wolves at Molineux and some rumours claim the defender could very well be a part of the matchday squad on Sunday.

The fact that he did play the full game vs the Magpies is an indication that James Chester is ready to play at the top level and will most certainly be included in the squad.

But it will take him a number of months before he can break into the first XI once again.

Right now the pairing of Tyrone Mings and Bjorn Engels have performed pretty efficiently for Aston Villa meaning there is very little chance that James Chester will be named in the starting XI vs Wolves.

Also after the Wolves game, Villa have matches against the likes of Chelsea, Man United and Leicester City so it’s fair to say that Dean Smith will not risk using the 30-year-old during such big matches.

So while the return of James Chester is certainly a big boost for Aston Villa, Wolves have nothing much to worry about since the most the defender will do is warm the benches on Sunday.
