According to Le Parisien, PSG view Liverpool and Real Madrid as the biggest threat to signing Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe has entered the final six months of his contract with PSG and if he does not commit to a new deal then the French side will lose him for free at the end of this season. And as things stand, the Frenchman has shown no indication of putting pen on paper.

Real Madrid failed to land Kylian Mbappe has summer but the club has not given up hope with Florentino Perez still keen on bringing him on board. However, as per L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi, Jurgen Klopp is a long-term admirer of the winger and there’s a chance Liverpool will go after him.

“Liverpool wanted him when he was playing for Monaco,” Tanzi told talkSPORT. “[Liverpool manager Jurgen] Klopp went to see him and they were negotiating while they were on the plane.

“The relationship between him, Liverpool, and Klopp is there. I think they have a chance.”

Kylian Mbappe has scored 18 goals in 16 league matches for PSG this season but it’s become clear that he needs to leave France if he wants to have a genuine shot at winning a major trophy.

It’s hard to see PSG letting him leave in January because they will still feel they have a chance of changing his mind. However, the 25-year-old will most certainly head for greener pastures in the summer but there’s little to no chance that he is going to join Liverpool.

Kylian Mbappe will demand a massive salary package if he is joining as a free agent and with Real Madrid reportedly willing to offer €130 million per season, Liverpool won’t even come close.

The Premier League side are very careful with how they spend their money and with Jurgen Klopp preparing for a midfield and defensive rebuild in the summer, the Reds board won’t want to spend money on a attacker.

Any team will want to have a player like Mbappe in their squad but the Anfield outfit will just not be able to match up to his wage demands, especially if he becomes a free agent.

Real Madrid have given a deadline to Kylian Mbappe after which they will shift their focus to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland but we are pretty confident the Los Blancos will wait for the World Cup winner throughout the summer.
