Manchester United host Manchester City in the Premier League this Sunday and there’s every chance that the home side might be staring at a loss.

Pundit Charlie Nicholas has told Sky Sports that Manchester City might be able to pick off their local rivals at Old Trafford this weekend primarily due to the demands of the Manchester United fans.

Nicholas has said: “It’s a proper Super Sunday. Manchester City aren’t going for the title but they know the potential ramifications of losing this one with Liverpool coming to town in a few weeks.

“Manchester United have beaten City at the Etihad already twice this season, but in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Old Trafford, it was City who picked them off.

“The demands of United fans dictate that they won’t be parking the bus, but to go head to head with them on their own patch. This suits City.

“Having got their first trophy of the season, I imagine Pep Guardiola will have his strongest side out. United have been better defensively and are a counter-attacking side, but I still think City will pick them off with Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne, provided he’s fit.”

Can Manchester United pick up a derby win?

Manchester United have been brilliant against City on two occasions this season but at home, Solskjaer’s men were humbled by their local rivals the last time around.

But we feel, the Norwegian would have learned his lessons from that game and will set up his team keeping in mind the attacking prowess of the Citizens.

Also, Man United have gotten most of their first-team players back to full fitness and the addition of Bruno Fernandes to the side has really brought in that much-needed spark.

Guardiola will surely deploy someone to look after Fernandes all throughout the game and maybe this could help the other United players in finding that much-needed space in and around the midfield area.
