Manchester United are set to face Wolves in the Premier League this week and all eyes will be on forward Marcus Rashford.

Rashford has faced criticism from both the media and his manager after reporting in sick following two consecutive nights out with his friends. The England international has been under scrutiny since this information surfaced. However, Erik ten Hag has chosen not to make any sensational public statements regarding the matter.

Right before Man United’s FA Cup tie at the weekend, Ten Hag made it clear that he would deal with this issue personally and on Wednesday, he explained to the press that this matter is done and dusted.

”So he has taken responsibility and, for the rest, it is an internal matter. Case closed. Like I said, case closed,” Ten Hag said in his pre-match press conference.

“Lack of respect? Nothing to do with that. The statement is clear and we have to focus on winning football games”.

This isn’t the initial instance of disciplinary measures taken by Ten Hag against Marcus Rashford, yet the Manchester United manager has opted not to escalate the situation unnecessarily.

Now, the only thing left is to see if the United boss hands Rashford a start against Wolves or not.

Marcus Rashford was seen training normally with the rest of the first-team squad but we doubt if ETH will name the England international in his starting XI on Thursday night.

Garnacho and Antony featured in the two wide roles against Newport County and there’s a big chance the Man United manager will rely on the same pair at the Molineux Stadium. Ten Hag has closed things off publicly rather quickly but there’s no doubt he will be fuming with Rashford’s lack of professionalism.

Manchester United have two fixtures lined up by the end of this weekend so Marcus Rashford will definitely get game time in these 180 minutes but he’s not expected to start on Wednesday.

The England international had a stellar 22/23 campaign wherein he netted 30 goals in 56 Premier League appearances but he’s seen a major dip in form this campaign, scoring just four goals in 20 Premier League matches.
