New Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is waiting for the January transfer window to reopen and it looks like his first signing could be Man United midfielder, Nemanja Matic.

Nemanja Matic has played very little football for Man United this season and right now he’s suffering from an injury but even when he gets back to full fitness we doubt if the Serbian will see any game time, especially with McTominay and Fred playing so wonderfully.

So naturally, there have been rumours that the player could try and move out next year and that Jose Mourinho would want to bring him to Spurs.

BrenchWarmers recently posted a picture on Twitter suggesting that Matic is now counting days when Jose will take him to Spurs and to this image, the Serbian responded with a pair of clapping and laughing emojis.

And after this, there’s been a huge buzz that the midfield could be Mourinho’s first bit of transfer business.

Despite Spurs’ poor run of form this season, there’s no doubt that Jose has been handed over a brilliant squad and the Portuguese could still do without even signing a new player in January.

But we doubt if that would be the case since unlike Poch, the former Man United boss will be given a pretty big transfer kitty to spend.

It’s still unclear as to which areas the new boss wants to focus on next year but one thing that the manager has promised is his urge to call up young players from the academy in order to help out the first-team on a regular basis.

The manager said[as reported]: “I really like this squad and looking to the young players. There is not one manager in the world that doesn’t like to develop young players and to help young players to develop.

“The academy is always giving the talents that the first team needs.”

Jose Mourinho used Nemanja Matic extensively at Chelsea but unfortunately, the midfielder did not have the same impact during his time at Man United.

So we don’t think the Old Trafford hierarchy will be too vexed at the idea of offloading the player at the start of the new year.
