Paul Pogba has hardly played for Manchester United this season due to a series of injury problems but there is an air of optimism that he could be fully fit to play the remainder of the season.

This season, the French international has played in only seven Premier League matches and since September the player has picked up three separate ankle injuries.

The Man United boss had said in February: “Paul knows he has to work hard to get back to his best. He has been out now for so long now, it’s a challenge to get back into shape.

“I’d like to say that as soon as he gets fit, he’ll be good enough to play for the team. I’m sure Paul’s desperate to play for us again.

“Paul is still on his recovery programme. He’s taken off his cast and started running on the treadmill now, so he’s getting closer. It’s been a long haul. Hopefully, we’ll see him back soon.”

Right now, the league is suspended due to the spread of the disease which in turn has given Paul Pogba a lot of time to recover from his injury problems and many people think he should be fit enough to start if the current season resumes in time.

While this is a good dream to have we do not think the player will be hurried into the first-team squad by his manager since if even if the Premier League was to resume in time, then also the matches will come thick and fast.

There have been talks of teams playing as many as three matches in one week and surely the World Cup winner will not be up for such a challenge.

He is obviously lacking match fitness as he’s been training only at home and for Man United to get him back into shape quickly will be a next to impossible task.

So the manager will take the safest route forward by helping him bring back into the team slowly and use him for the 2020-21 season.

If he remains at Old Trafford that is.
