Real Madrid are gathering funds to bring in Kylian Mbappe from PSG and as per the latest rumours, the La Liga side are ready to sell Tchouameni as well as Federico Valverde.

ESPN FC’s Madrid correspondent Alex Kirkland has said that Madrid currently have too many midfielders which is why they won’t mind offloading these two in an attempt to try and secure the €200 million fund needed for Mbappe’s purchase.

Kirkland said: “They’ve brought in [Jude] Bellingham, they’ve brought in [Arda] Guler now. It leaves them with too many midfielders. So, you’re looking at well, who can go? It’s not going to be the players who’ve just agreed new contracts, it’s not going to be the players they’ve just brought in. You’re looking at players like [Aurelien] Tchouameni and Federico Valverde.

“Tchouameni, I don’t think Madrid ideally would like to see him go. They only brought him in a year ago for a lot of money… And Valverde is the other one who’s a really exciting player.

“I get the feeling that Madrid would consider it [selling Valverde]. He’s the sort of player with his qualities, you can see him doing really well in the Premier League as well.”

No sooner has this news hit the market, Chelsea, Liverpool and even MCFC have contacted Real Madrid over the availability of the 24-year-old whose market value is €100 million and his current deal with the Spanish giants expires in 2027.

Liverpool are said to be the most interested in landing Valverde as Klopp overhauls his midfield before the new season and even Chelsea have asked about the midfielder because Poch is pushing owners to sign a new central midfielder.

Will Real Madrid sell off Federico Valverde or is he too important?

Dean Jones is one of the journalists who has spoken on this and asked all the fans to take this news with a pinch of salt.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones has said: “I’ll be bowled over if they could achieve a signing like that because it is unreal to think it’s possible. It would be brilliant for them if it could happen. But I have an air of caution when considering their prospects.”

Liverpool and Chelsea’s names have been mentioned by almost every transfer expert but as per 90min‘s transfer correspondent Graeme Bailey, even Manchester City have reached out to Real Madrid. However, even he has claimed that Fede Valverde is not leaving the Bernabeu this summer.

He has said: “There’s a bit more speculation about him, but he’s not going anywhere. That’s not to say clubs haven’t shown interest, they have. My understanding is that Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City have all asked about [Fede] Valverde. They’re making sure that there’s availability.”

Apart from a handful of journalists, most transfer experts believe Valverde is too important to be let go by the Madrid manager but Perez is desperate to bring in Mbappe and he needs a lot of money for this deal to go through.

PSG is ready to let him go but they will only sell him for around €200 million even though the France international has only one year remaining in his current contract.

Also, Real Madrid have signed Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler this summer plus they have also offered new contracts to Modric, Kroos and even Dani Ceballos which means they currently have 11 midfielders in their current squad.

Last summer, a lot of people were shocked that Ancelotti let Casemiro join Manchester United and even though Fede Valverde is just 24, it won’t be a major shock if Madrid decide to sell him off as well. Liverpool and Chelsea will easily get into a transfer battle if someone like Valverde is in the market and for someone who has played more than 200 games for Real Madrid, these EPL sides won’t mind shelling out around €80-85 million.

Also, MCFC are also in the hunt and the midfielder won’t mind jumping ships from Madrid in order to play for the reigning European champions. Chelsea are chasing Moises Caicedo and if they get this deal over the line then they will probably back off but Liverpool and MCFC are very much in the race.

This summer, Real Madrid have signed three new players spending €128.50 million but they are yet to make a sale. The Los Blancos will need to balance their books in order to avoid an FFP breach which is another indication that Federico Valverde could be offloaded for the right price.
