Aston Villa want Sergio Romero Man United
Sergio Romero Man United

Man United’s Sergio Romero is easily the best backup keeper in the English Premier League but as per ESPN, the Argentine could be playing for another top English club next season.

The report claims: “There has also been speculation about Romero’s future and sources have told ESPN that Leeds United, Everton and Chelsea are among a host of clubs interested in the Argentina international.

“United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said publicly he will not be able to keep three top-level goalkeepers happy at Old Trafford.

“Sheffield United are considering submitting a loan offer for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson despite agreeing a fee with Bournemouth for Aaron Ramsdale, sources have told ESPN.”

Will Sergio Romero be allowed to join a PL rival?

By the looks of it, Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will stick with David De Gea next season as well and in the long run, it will be Dean Henderson who will take the No 1 role at the club.

So clearly, Sergio Romero does not have much to fight for at the club right now which is why there’s every chance Ole could let him join a club like Chelsea or Everton.

Obviously, United’s first priority will be to sell him off to a different league but with so many top PL clubs interested in him, the Red Devils might as well take the money and reinvest it in the market.

Chelsea have had their fair share of problems with Kepa Arrizabalaga and if a keeper like Sergio Romero is actually up for sale then Frank Lampard will most certainly want to make a move for him in the coming weeks.

Everton have a perfectly fine keeper in the form of Jordan Pickford but if they are interested in Sergio Romero as well then Carlo Ancelotti is also looking for a change.
