Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has one year left on his current deal at the club and he is expected to move out in this summer.

The defender has played in only eight Premier League games for the Gunners this season and in most of these matches, the 27-year-old has been below par.

And with Mikel Arteta taking charge of the club a couple of months ago, there have been rumours that the new boss does not want to keep Shkodran Mustafi any more – especially since he has managed to bring in a couple of new signings in January.

But despite all his exit rumours, the centre-back has made it clear that he is not really thinking about his future amidst all the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to Sky in Germany, Mustafi said, via Sports Mole: “We are in a situation where everyone is worried about the current situation and not so much about their personal future.

“It is difficult to think about my personal future. None of us know what will happen next and when we can play again.

“So, once we have overcome this difficult time and are back on the pitch, I can think about questions like that. At the moment I don’t think about it.”

Will Shkodran Mustafi stay at Arsenal?

Right now, Shkodran Mustafi is way below the pecking order at Arsenal more so after the arrival of Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares at the start of the new year.

And with William Saliba also arriving in the summer, there’s no way the Arsenal manager will want to hold onto Shkodran Mustafi for one more season.

The player is under contract at Arsenal for one more season meaning the Gunners will want to offload him this summer itself instead of running the risk of losing him for free next year.

Apart from David Luiz, Sokratis, Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares, the Gunners also have Calum Chambers and Rob Holding amongst their ranks so there’s no chance that even Shkodran Mustafi would want to remain at the club next campaign.
