Celtic FC midfielder Olivier Ntcham is wanted by Premier League club Southampton FC for the upcoming season – as per Football Insider.

The report claims: “Southampton have set their sights on a summer deal for Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham, Football Insider understands.

“A Saints source has told Football Insider that Ntcham is firmly on their radar and there is hope he could be attracted by a move to an established Premier League club.

“He has two years remaining on his Hoops contract and the club may be willing to listen to offers this summer.”

Olivier Ntcham joined Celtic in 2017 from Manchester City’s U23 side for a fee of €5 million and this season, he has played in 23 Premiership games for the Bhoys, scoring four and assisting two goals.

Is Olivier Ntcham on his way to Southampton FC?

This is not the first time Ntcham has tried to move out of Scotland since, at the start of the new year, the midfielder was the subject of interest from a number of big European clubs.

Celtic though refused to let him leave citing reasons that he was an important part of the first-team squad.

Clearly though, Neil Lennon seems to have changed his stance as the club’s ready to listen to offers for the midfielder and now what remains to be seen how much are Southampton exactly willing to offer for the 24-year-old.

The SPFL side paid €5 million for Ntcham and as per TransferMarkt, the player is currently valued at €4 million. But with two years still left on his current deal, the Bhoys are sure to demand much more than that.

Paying €7-8 million should not be a major concern for Southampton FC but anything beyond that will raise a few eyebrows at the English club since Ntcham has not been at the peak of his game this campaign.
