Manchester United have reportedly joined the race to sign Thiago Alcantara who also happens to be a transfer target for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Thiago has one more year left on his current deal at Bayern Munich and the player is ready to move to the Premier League this summer with Liverpool being the likeliest destination for a really long time.
But it seems like the Anfield outfit are not willing to pay €30 million for a player whom they can sign for free next summer despite manager Jurgen Klopp eager to bring him in right now.
Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter: “Thiago Alcantara is waiting because he strongly wants to move to Premier League this summer.
“Liverpool are still in contact with him but Bayern told again 2 days ago they’re going to sell Thiago only for €30m.
“Jürgen Klopp wants Thiago too. It’s up to the clubs.”

And according to Norwegian journalist Fredrik Filtvedt, Man United might very well have the upper hand in signing Thiago Alcantara, primarily due to Liverpool’s financial situation.
He wrote on Twitter, as translated: “Liverpool’s financial situation apparently means that they have to sell before they can buy (Thiago). United come late to the party here, but in that sense, it is possible to coup Thiago.“

Klopp is willing to let Wijnaldum leave with Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman interested in him but we will have to see how much Barca are willing to spend on the Dutchman.
Also, if the La Liga take their own sweet time to make a formal offer for Wijnaldum then Man United should be able to convince Thiago Alcantara to join them next season.
