Chelsea’s technical and performance adviser Petr Cech has made it clear that Kepa Arrizabalaga has the full backing of the club but at the same time, the Blues are also looking to made additions in that department.
The ex-Blues keeper told Sport.CZ, as quoted by talkSPORT: “Kepa struggled last season, that is unquestionable.
“But the club invested in him and gave him a long-term contract because they believe he has the qualities and attributes to be successful.
“Additions will be made to the squad, perhaps even in goal, and this is what is being discussed now.
“But nobody is giving up on Kepa and we all hope he has a great future.”

With the way things are going, it seems like Kepa Arrizabalaga will start the 2020/21 Premier League season as the No 1 for Chelsea but his faith will remain undecided until the transfer window remains open.

The ongoing window does not close until October and Frank Lampard is trying really hard to bring in a new keeper before that deadline.
The Blues manager has already eyed players like Jan Oblak and Nick Pope while the club have also made a recent move for Rennes’s Edouard Mendy.
Chelsea clearly have money to spend so despite bringing in players like Werner, Havertz and Ben Chilwell, Lampard can still manage to splurge on a new keeper.
But if the London outfit cannot find a suitable replacement in time then they will have no other option but to back Kepa Arrizabalaga for one more year.
