Celtic are amongst the club interested in signing Everton winger Yannick Bolasie this summer – as per reports.

Yannick Bolasie joined Everton from Crystal Palace back in 2016 but since then the winger has not been able to find a regular place in the first XI at Goodison Park.

Last season he spent the whole time out on loan – the first half with Aston Villa and the second part with Belgium side Anderlecht.

The winger did make a decent impact in Belgium which led many to believe that Marco Silva might end up using him during the 2019-20 season.

But now that, the club have signed Alex Iwobi, Yannick Bolasie is practically of no use and the Toffees are willing to let him leave.

Everton had already reached an agreement with CSKA Moscow but the Russian side could not convince Yannick Bolasie to join them which is why the deal collapsed.

And now it is being reported that Neil Lennon is interested in signing the 30-year-old alongside the likes of Besiktas and Rennes.

The Bhoys are expected to make a move for Yannick Bolasie in the few weeks and they would have to shell out somewhere between £5 to £6 million which is a very realistic budget for the Premiership club.

But it is the wages of the winger which could turn out to be a problem for Celtic.

Yannick Bolasie earns currently earns £80,000 per week at Goodison Park and it would be a real stretch for Celtic to afford such huge wages.

So if they are really interested in signing the winger then they will have to convince him to take a massive pay cut.

And this will be easier said than done since clubs like Besiktas can easily afford his current pay structure.

UPDATE(14.08.2019):

As per several reports doing the rounds in England, Everton have decided to stick with their original price tag for Yannick Bolasie.

This means despite several big names wanting to sign the outcast, the Toffees will be more than happy if they can get around £6 million for him.

The club are also willing to send him out on loan for the 2019-20 season with an obligation to buy next summer.

While the initial price tag was never the problem for Celtic but it was the player’s wages which were too big a burden for the Bhoys to bear. But now if rumours are to be believed then Yannick Bolasie is willing to take a pay cut in order to get regular football.
