Zinedine Zidane Wants This Chelsea Player At The Bernabeu – And No, Its Not Eden Hazard

During the whole of last month, there have been numerous reports that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez wants to sign Chelsea winger Eden Hazard during the next summer transfer window. The reports suggested that Real manager Zinedine Zidane had marked Hazard as his primary target and he wanted the Belgian at any cost. This also led to reports that the manager was willing to offload the likes of Bale and Benzema in order to accommodate Hazard and a few others that would be arriving next summer.

Now though, as per a report in the Don Balon, it looks as if Real Madrid might have shifted their focus a little bit. Don’t worry, they still want Eden Hazard but its just that the Belgian might not be his biggest priority. The news suggests that Zidane now wants to bring Marcos Alonso back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Alonso, 26, is a Real Madrid youth academy product, having left the club to join Bolton Wanderers back in 2010. Alonso played about 40 games for Madrid’s B side and made one appearance for the senior pros before moving to England.

The news suggests that Zidane has grown frustrated with Marcelo’s role in the left-back position and wants Alonso to be the Brazilian’s long-term replacement.
