Arsene Wenger has rubbished rumours that the Gunners are interested in signing Chelsea outcast David Luiz.

David Luiz’s and Antonio Conte had a major spat after Chelsea’s humiliating defeat at the hands of AS Roma in the Champions League and since then the Brazilian has not featured in any game for the Blues. Luiz is currently sidelined with a knee injury but reports have been ripe that the Brazilian is on his way out of Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window with Arsenal being the likely destination.

Now Arsene Wenger has set the record straight that Arsenal are not on the run in to sign the centre-back but his club is expected to make a couple of other signings this month.

“These reports are wrong,” Wenger told reporters when asked about a potential deal for David Luiz.

“We are out there and [could] look to do some things, yes,” he added.

David Luiz is expected to return to action very soon but it is very much possible that when the Brazilian steps onto the pitch once again he might be wearing a different jersey.
