Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will not be leaving the club during January and will hopefully see out his contract until the end of the season.

Alexis Sanchez is being tipped to join Manchester City during the January transfer window but the Arsenal boss has gone on record to say that the club have not yet received any bid for the Chilean International.

Recently Wenger blasted Thiery Henry after the former Arsenal player had claimed that Alexis Sanchez was causing a rift in the Arsenal dressing room and now the Gunners boss has said that he wishes to hold onto to both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil until the end of the season.

“We have not been contacted by anyone. This club has lost many big players and responded well.

“But you want to keep your best players. I want them to stay. Why should I be scared?

“It will depend as well on the players out of contract in June. We have to take that and respond to it,

“We have not lost them yet and [if we do], we will respond by bringing in players of top quality.

“We have not been contacted by anybody.”

Manchester City still hold substantial interest in signing Alexis Sanchez and the Chilean is also desperate to move out of the Emirates. But now it seems that Guardiola is in no hurry in bringing the player to Manchester. City are sitting comfortably on the top of the league table and Guardiola sees no real reason why he should go out and spend money on a player who he can grab for free at the end of the season.
