Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly lining up a bid for Barcelona’s Andre Gomes after Chelsea managed to sign Ross Barkley from Everton.

Mauricio Pochettino went after Gomes during the summer transfer window but then gave up the chase in the hope that they can manage to sign Ross Barkley. But now that the English International has signed for the Blues, Pochettino seems to have rekindled his interest in Andre Gomes.

Gomes joined Barcelona from La Liga side Valencia but has been highly unsuccessful in showcasing his talents under Ernesto Valverde. Last season he was not that great and this season too he has managed to provide only a single assist in 16 appearances in all competitions.

The Express claim that the Lilywhites want to bring Andre Gomes to London by the end of the month but they just might face some competition from Manchester United who have been interested in the player for some time now.

While the news of the Red Devils chasing Andre Gomes have died down a little bit but there have been no major reports about United pulling out of the deal.

Ross Barkley cost Chelsea £15 million but surely Tottenham have to pay a lot more if they wish to sign Andre Gomes from Barcelona.
