Jose Mourinho is planning to make a couple of signings during the January transfer window and it seems that he is in the process of clearing out some dressing room space. According to reports, the Manchester United manager is open to offers for Dutch International Daley Blind.

Blind joined Manchester United from Ajax and played an influential role under former manager Louis Van Gaal but since the arrival of Jose Mourinho, the defender has fallen down the pecking order.

Daley Blind can play in a variety of positions in the back line as well as a midfielder but somehow he is never the first choice for any of his preferred roles. While Ashley Young and Luke Shaw has trumped him to the left-back spot, Nemanja Matic has practically cemented himself in the defensive midfielder’s position.

In such a scenario Jose Mourinho sees no use of the player and is willing to let him move out of the club. According to ESPN, the United boss is willing to accept bids for Daley Blind and is willing to let him depart if the right offer comes by.

Barcelona are said to be interested in the versatile player as the Ernesto Valverde feels that the Ajax youth academy product will fit in seamlessly into Barcelona’s style of football.

Daley Blind’s current contract at Manchester United is set to expire at the end of the season but the club are likely to trigger a one-year extension clause so that they can get a better transfer deal out of him.
