Gary Neville has absolutely ripped into former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher after the latter’s comments on Arsenal forward Theo Walcott.

Both the former English defenders were discussing Everton’s interest in Theo Walcott and the fact that the Toffees have made a bid for the player. And that is when Carragher made a comment.

Carragher said that according to him a 17-year-old Walcott’s call-up to the national squad for the World Cup squad back in 2006 was a bit too early.

“The reason I feel a little bit for him, I was in the World Cup squad when he got picked in 2006, and he should not have got picked,” Carragher told on Monday Night Football.

“He should never have gone there.”

And while the Liverpool legend was making his point, Neville quickly swooped in to say: “He thought that about you.”

Neville was obviously mentioning about the fact that Carragher always found himself down the pecking order in the English squad – behind Rio Ferdinand and John Terry.
