Chelsea and Manchester United are preparing to head on against each other in order to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski – according to reports.

The Polish International has had a glittering career in Germany – first with Borussia Dortmund and now with Bayern Munich but latest reports are suggesting that the striker has grown bored of life in Germany and wants to move out in order to accept a fresh challenge.

The 29-year-old joined Bayern Munich before the 2014-15 season and has managed to score 139 goals in just 181 games. This season alone Lewandowski has managed to net 29 goals from 34 appearances.

Lewandowski has already won 3 Bundesliga titles, 1 DFB Pokal and 2 Supercups with the Bavarians but Sky Sports are reporting that the striker wants to move out of Germany and preferably play in the English Premier League.

Lewandowski’s current contract with the Bavarians runs until 2021 and the striker has also recently appointed Pini Zahavi as his new agent.

Sky Sports are claiming that Manchester United and Chelsea are keen to sign the Polish International and will go all out to get the striker’s signature.

Chelsea’s summer signing Alvaro Morata’s form has dipped considerably after a wonderful start to the season and Antonio Conte wants to bring in someone who can deliver the goods immediately.

Manchester United, on the other hand, have Romelu Lukaku who has been performing steadily but the Red Devils want to sign Lewandowski in order to add competition for the striker’s position.

Having mentioned all these things, Bayern Munich might just play spoilt sport in the deal as the Bavarian will not be too eager to let their leading goal scorer move out of the Allianz Arena especially when they are in no need of funds.
