Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho had revealed earlier this week that he is not in the mood to make big-name signings during the summer transfer window.

While everyone was hoping that Mourinho would splash some cash at the end of the season but the Portuguese has claimed he wishes to build on the performances of the ongoing season and will work with the current crop of players that he has at his disposal.

But now according to a report from the Sun, the United boss is planning to bring back Jonny Evans during the summer.

The centre-back left for West Brom in 2015 under the Louis Van Gaal era for a transfer fee of just £6 million and now Mourinho wants to bring him back for a cut-price of £3 million.

West Brom have valued Evans at £25 million but given the fact that the Baggies are all but relegated to the Championship a clause in his current contract will let him move out for just £3 million.

While the price tag will certainly get Jose Mourinho and the United hierarchy excited but it is sure to attract many more suitors.

Clubs like Arsenal and Manchester City have had long-standing interests in Jonny Evans and when West Brom are relegated to the Championship at the end of the season. these teams are sure to come back.

Manchester City signed Laporte during the January transfer window meaning that Pep Guardiola is not expected to bring one more defender on-board during the summer.

But given the price tag of just £3 million, the City boss might just be tempted to sanction the move.

Arsenal also wanted to sign Jonny Evans during the January transfer window but their budget was cut short after they signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.

The Gunners interest on Jonny Evans will also depend on their new manager who will take charge of the team at the end of the season.

Mourinho does have a lot of competition if he tries to make a move for Jonny Evans but given the fact that United are expected to release a string of first-team players in the summer, the manager will surely look at Evans as an apt replacement.
