Manchester City have made some of the best transfers as compared to the other big Premier League clubs this window. But then Guardiola did not have much of an option either. After a rather woeful last season as per Guardiola standards, the Spanish coach was very clear of what he wanted to do.

And now that the blue half of Manchester have grabbed hold of most of their summer signings, we take a look at how they could line-up in the upcoming season:

Goalkeeper:

New signing Ederson Moraes will be an obvious choice in this position, especially after the price at which he has made the move from Benfica. This means that last season’s No 1, Claudio Bravo will fall down the pecking order and will be the second choice keeper for Guardiola – atleast in the Premier League.

Defence:

One of the biggest problems for Man City last season was the fact that they leaked in a flurry of goals. But Guardiola has made sure that a calamity of that sort is not repeated this time around. The City boss has gone out and spent bag loads of money on bringing proper defensive reinforcements to the team. And this includes right-back Kyle Walker’s record breaking deal from Tottenham Hotspur. Man City have also bought Benjamin Mendy from AS Monaco as the new left-back of the team.

City will most probably start the with partnership of Stones and Kompany at the heart of the defence while occasionally rotating the latter with Otamendi.

Midfield:

If our assumptions are right then Guardiola will opt for a three man midfield which will include only one defensive midfielder and that duty is likely to be shared between Gundogan and Yaya Toure. But given the fact that Gundogan is still not match-fit, we assume that Toure will get the nod for the first couple of games.

The other two midfielders who are going to be playing further up field will be the duo of Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva. We are pretty sure that both De Bruyne and Silva will get the first preferences but one of them will have to swap places with David Silva as the season moves along depending on how they perform.

Attack:

Guardiola will play two wingers in his team and he already has the right wing sorted out in the form of Leroy Sane. But it is the left wing position which is yet to be assigned to a particular player. We believe that if Man City manage to get Alexis Sanchez then he will be the automatic selection for that role. But in case the Chilean fails to arrive then Guardiola still has a perfect replacement in the form of Raheem Sterling.

The manager will play a lone striker upfront and atleast for the first few games it is undoubtedly going to be Gabriel Jesus. But Man City also have the option of Sergio Aguero and we are sure that he will be pretty heavily involved throughout the next season.
