Manchester United held their nerves and came out of the Emirates with all three points thanks to their goalkeeper. The Red Devils were reduced to 10 men during the final quarter of the game but they eventually came out as 3-1 winners. And with that victory, Manchester United have broken Arsenal’s 18 games unbeaten streak at home.

United scored two goals in quick succession during the first quarter of the game and got a comfy cushion to defend but after that, it was all Arsenal. The Gunners could have easily scored two or three goals during the first 45 minutes of the match had it not been for the heroics of David De Gea infront of the goal.

In the second half though Arsenal did pull one back thanks to summer signing Lacazette but the goal was perfectly teed up by Aaron Ramsey who broke the offside trap neatly to put the ball in the path of the Frenchman. After the goal Arsenal exerted more pressure on the United defence but somehow the defensive line held on.

And it was in the 62nd minute of the game that Lingard restored the two-goal advantage with a fine counter-attack. While most of the fans thought that game would be done and dusted but the Gunners were given a ray of hope when Paul Pogba was shown a direct red for stamping on Hector Bellerin in the 73rd minute. This gave the Gunners a final lifeline but then Jose Mourinho effectively parked the bus with adding 5 defenders in the backline and two defensive midfielders.

The United players defended with all their grit and determination and ultimately secured all the three points. This win sees Man United move further close to league leaders Manchester City who play their fixture tomorrow.
