Chelsea alongside Manchester City are the only two teams from last season’s league table who have the least amount of injuries while going into the new season which starts this weekend.

We take a look at the Chelsea players who are currently injured and are likely to miss out on the opening day’s action against Burnley.

1. Eden Hazard:

The Chelsea superstar suffered a fractured right ankle while training for his international team Belgium and had to undergo a surgery during the first week of June this year. Since then the 26-year-old has been working really hard to get back to full fitness. Hazard had been training alone at the club’s Cobham Training Centre while the Blues flew off to Asia for their pre-season tour.

But the Belgian looks all set to miss out on the first quarter of the season as Chelsea have put return date of 16th September on the player. But this date only refers to the point where he is ready to take part in competitive action. Getting match fit and becoming a threat to defenders is a whole different ball game altogether.

2. Tiemoue Bakayoko:

Another name on the injury list is new signing Tiemoue Bakayoko. The French International had been suffering from a knee injury and like Hazard, he too required an operation. But unlike the Belgian, Bakayoko is expected to return back to action within a few weeks.

But Antonio Conte has confirmed that the newly acquired midfielder will not take part in any of the action on the opening weekend.
