According to a report, Chelsea have shown a growing interest in Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto.

The 25-year-old is a La Masia product and is one of the most versatile players in the Barcelona squad. The Catalonia International who has made more than 150 appearances for Barcelona can play in midfield as well as in the defence. And it is the player’s defensive abilities that have attracted Antonio Conte towards him, as per the news.

Sergi Roberto played most of his matches for Barcelona last season on the right flank and it looks Conte wants him as a potential back up for Victor Moses who also operates in the right-flank. Simply because, Chelsea will be attacking on all fronts from the next season and Conte wants to have a back-up player for every position.

Conte wanted to sign up Danilo as Moses’s back up but Manchester City beat them to the race. Now if the news is anything to go by then the Italian manager has shifted his focus to the Barcelona man.

With each passing day, Chelsea’s shopping list seems to be growing bigger and bigger. In the past week Chelsea has been linked to players like Fernando Llorente, Alex Sandro and even Liverpool’s prime target Virgil Van Dijk.
