When a player becomes available in the market you will hear atleast a thousand rumours linking him to hundreds of clubs. Rumours are basically a flash in the pan cause at the end of the day one or the other is bound to hold true. But there’s another source of transfer news which has a bit more stability that these tabloid gossips – the news from the bookie’s tables. When bookies bet on a transfer deal it more often than not turns out to happen. And according to the latest buzz in the betting circle, it seems that Liverpool are set to beat Arsenal and Chelsea in the signing of Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka.

Initially, Chelsea and Arsenal were said to be the favourites to land the German International at the end of the summer but the odds have changed drastically in the past couple of weeks. And every arrow is pointing towards Anfield.

Goretzka is out of contract at the end of the season in Germany but the player has refused to sign a new deal. And both Arsenal and Chelsea were hoping to land the player on a free transfer once the current season comes to a close. But now reports are suggesting that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is not keen on waiting so long and will make a move for the player during the January transfer window itself. Klopp is said to be preparing a £36 million and he hopes that Schalke will pounce on it due to fears of losing out the player for free during the summer.

All these three clubs are in need of the player but Liverpool are sure to benefit the most from his signing.
