The recent injury to Paul Pogba has brought one very important thing to the notice of Manchester United – their over-reliance on the second most expensive player in the world. And now Jose Mourinho desperately wants to get rid of that reliance by bringing in an appropriate cover for the Frenchman.

As a result of this Man Utd are now reportedly targeting Valencia’s central midfielder, Carlos Soler. Mourinho is keen on signing the Spain U-21 International as a backup to Paul Pogba but the price tag is something that will make the Portuguese manager think twice. Soler recently signed a new deal with Valencia and in that his release clause has been bumped up to a whopping £72 million.

The release clause is something that will certainly hold back the Old Trafford outfit but Mourinho might just have the perfect plan to bypass this. United recently loaned out Andreas Pereira to the La Liga outfit and now they are thinking of using the Brazilian as part of a transfer deal to bring Soler to Manchester United.
