Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho recently claimed that his team still lacks an attacking player who is capable of playing in the wide areas which prompted many fans to believe that one more signing is expected to arrive at Old Trafford before the close of the transfer window. And everyone had a feeling that this player was going to be Ivan Perisic.

Manchester United have been chasing Perisic for months now and Inter Milan have already rejected as many as three bids from the Red Devils. The Nerazzurri have priced Perisic at £55 million and each of United’s bids has fallen short of the asking price.

And now news is filtering out of Italy that Man Utd are set to miss out on the 28-year-old as Inter are ready to offer him with a new and improved deal. According to the report, Inter will table a 4-year contract in which Perisic is set to receive £5.4 million a year – making him the highest paid footballer at the club.
