Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has revealed that he would join Arsenal and not Tottenham Hotspur if both the clubs come calling during the summer transfer window.

The French midfielder has set the Premier League on fire this season – scoring 7 goals and providing 2 assists in just 26 games. Doucoure joined the Hornets in February of 2016 for an undisclosed fee and was immediately sent out on loan to Granda in the La Liga. But since returning back the midfielder has slowly and steadily cemented his place in the Watford starting eleven.

And his fine run of form this season has rightly grabbed the attention of a number of top rated Premier League clubs.

Amongst these suitors, London based clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be the frontrunners. Multiple reports have claimed that both these clubs will try and sign Doucoure during the summer transfer window.

But it seems that the midfielder has already made up his mind on which of these two clubs he wants to join.

While speaking to TeleFoot, Doucoure said that he would prefer joining Arsenal over Spurs because of Arsene Wenger.

“Arsenal because of Arsene Wenger,” Doucoure replied when he was asked which club he would prefer joining.

The midfielder also added: “It’s true that these clubs are interested. But I’m at Watford for the moment and I want to finish my season well.”
