Real Madrid have had an awful campaign in the La Liga this time around and their only hope of turning it into a good season now is to win the Champions League.

Zinedine Zidane though has already started planning for the upcoming season and it is pretty clear that the Frenchman is planning a major overhaul at the Bernabeu. A lot of first-team players are expected to be shown the door in order to make way for some fresh talent.

Zidane has already added the likes of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois to his shopping list and now the Don Balon are claiming that Real Madrid are planning a move for Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso.

Alonso is a Real Madrid youth team product and the left-back moved to England in 2010 in order to join Bolton Wanderers. After making his way through a couple of other teams the 27-year-old joined Chelsea in 2016 for a fee of £24 million.

And now Don Balon are claiming that Florentino Perez is willing to pay £52 million for Marcos Alonso and bring him back to the Bernabeu after a recommendation from Sergio Ramos.

This interest from the Los Blancos will not come down too well with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho who is also planning to make a move for Marcos Alonso at the end of the season.

The Portuguese is reportedly a huge admirer of the left-back and he has already told the United hierarchy to start preparing a bid for Alonso.

Chelsea are themselves eyeing a move for United outcast Luke Shaw and since Jose Mourinho has virtually no use of him maybe the United boss can use Shaw in a swap deal to bring Marcos Alonso to Old Trafford.
