Liverpool travel to Manchester to take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals and Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that his team can replicate the first leg’s heroics at the Etihad.

The Reds will take the pitch on Tuesday with a 3 goal advantage over their rivals and it is now effectively in their hands to ensure a smooth entry into the semi-finals of the tournament. But the Man City vs Liverpool encounter will undoubtedly be one of the most attractive encounters of the whole season given the fact that Pep Guardiola will line up his men to go all out and attack.

Here how Liverpool might line up during the Man City vs Liverpool game:

Man City vs Liverpool: Liverpool team news:

Jurgen Klopp chose to rest a lot of first-team regulars during the Merseyside derby on Saturday in hopes of keeping them fit for Tuesday.

Van Dijk and Dejan Lovren played in central defence against Everton during the weekend and the pair will once again take the field on Tuesday against Manchester City. Fullbacks Trent Alexander Arnold and Andrew Robertson who played in the first leg of the quarterfinals were rested in midweek but will return to the starting line up in midweek.

In the midfield area, Emre Can is unavailable for the European clash as the German is still recovering from a back injury. We might see the same trio of midfielders who played against City in the first leg take the field on Tuesday.

Jordan Henderson will play in central midfield while Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and James Milner will be on either side of the club captain.

English publication Express have sent out a bit of a scare by claiming that Mo Salah has not yet fully recovered from the injury that he suffered last week and the Egyptian is facing a race against time to be fit for the second leg. But apart from this one report, no one else has really made such a claim so we feel that Mo Salah will feature on the right wing for Liverpool at the Etihad.

The other two players of the attacking trio will remain the same meaning Roberto Firmino will play as the central striker and Sadio Mane will play down the left flank.

Liverpool will go into the second leg with a 3-0 advantage and Jurgen Klopp’s first priority of the game will be to bag that all-important away goal as early as possible in order to kill off the Man City vs Liverpool tie.
