Chelsea are planning to begin talks with Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri in a bid to bring the 26-year-old to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window.

Seri has been on the radar of many a top European clubs for a couple of seasons now and the central midfielder was on the verge of joining Barcelona before the start of the previous season but that deal, unfortunately, collapsed during the final days of the transfer window.

Now according to a report, Chelsea have well and truly joined the race to sign Seri.

And this bit of report could be very bad news for new Arsenal boss Unai Emery who also has his sights set on bringing the Ivorian to the Emirates.

Emery has been a long-term admirer of the midfielder and he had even tried to sign Seri during his PSG days.

As per the reports coming out of London, Emery has pleaded the management at Arsenal to sanction the move for Jean Michael Seri and the Gunners hierarchy have agreed.

Seri played a total of 41 games for Nice last season scoring 2 goals and providing 6 assists and the midfielder has a price tag of only 35 million pounds.

Chelsea and Arsenal though are not the only Premier League teams interested in the 26-year-old as some reports have claimed that Manchester United are also in the hunt for Jean Michael Seri.
