Chelsea are currently going through a turmoil and their biggest headache now is to find a suitable replacement for Antonio Conte as soon as possible. And once this task is complete then only will the Blues dive into the transfer market in the search of new players.
As the new players will come in there are also a bunch of players in the current squad who will be shown the exit door during the summer transfer window.
And one of them is Brazilian winger Kennedy.
Kennedy joined Chelsea in 2015 from Fluminense for a fee around the region of £6.3 million but since then the Brazilian has not been able to establish himself as a first-team player.
The 22-year-old spent the final part of last season out on loan to Newcastle United where Rafa Benitez was highly impressed with the youngster’s talents.
News has it that the Magpies are keen on making Kennedy’s loan deal permanent but they are not taking the thought forward primarily due to budget restraints.
Even if Newcastle United back off, there is no shortage of takers for the winger as Arsenal are also said to be interested in him.
The Gunners, unlike Chelsea, have already announced their new manager before the World Cup and reports have it that Unai Emery wants Kennedy at the Emirates.
But the same report also states that Kennedy’s performances at Newcastle have caught the eye of Bundesliga side RB Leipzig who are also keen on bringing the 22-year-old on board.
Kennedy’s inability to secure a first-team position at Chelsea had less to do with his talent and more to do with his strained relationship with manager Antonio Conte.
Now that Antonio Conte is expected to leave Chelsea, Kennedy might very well be given a new chance at the club which in turn will be very bad news for the likes of Arsenal and Leipzig.
