Manchester City outclassed every other opponent to win the Premier League this past season and Pep Guardiola’s next aim will be to win the Champions League in the upcoming season.

And in order to achieve that the Spanish manager wants to bring in a couple of new signings into the squad during the summer transfer window – the biggest of which is expected to be Real Madrid forward, Isco.

Isco was mostly limited to substitute appearances this past season and if reports are to believed then the attacking midfielder is not happy with the amount of game time he has been receiving under Zinedine Zidane.

A few months ago a couple of Spanish tabloids had also claimed that the 26-year-old had made his frustration known to Florentino Perez while concluding that if he does not receive importance in the first team then he will have no other option but to force an exit this summer.

And keeping in line with that news, Mundo Deportivo are now claiming that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola wants to sign Isco during the summer.

The report states that City are willing to offer 80 million euros for the services of the 26-year-old which they feel should be enough to convince the Los Blancos to sell him off.

City though are not the only team that have shown interest in the playmaker and previous reports had suggested that Jose Mourinho has also been planning to make a bid for the Spanish International especially after their long-term target Antoine Griezmann has agreed to join Barcelona.

It is being reported that Isco is set to meet with Zinedine Zidane after the Champions League final in order to discuss his future at the Bernabeu.

If the Madrid coach cannot give reassurances then Isco will not hesitate in finding a new club for the upcoming campaign.

Having said that though, the biggest speed breaker in the Isco deal for either Manchester United or Manchester City will be the termination clause in the player’s current contract.

Isco’s current deal with Real Madrid expires in 2023 and his exit clause is in the region of 700 million.

Real Madrid are more or less certain to offload Gareth Bale in the summer and if Florentino Perez cannot bring in apt replacements then there is no chance of Isco leaving – certainly not on a transfer fee of 80 million euros.

Real Madrid are reportedly plotting a bid for PSG’s Neymar and everyone knows for a fact that the Brazilian will not come cheap. So it should not come as a big surprise if the La Liga outfit tries to squeeze out as much money as possible from the Isco transfer.
