Alvaro Morata
Alvaro Morata playing for Chelsea

Alvaro Morata joined Chelsea last summer for a club record fee but the Spaniard has failed to make any sort of impact. Morata has managed to net only 11 goals in the Premier League and it seems that Blues are already considering selling him off.

Morata started the 2017-18 season in fine form but as the campaign moved along his form dipped considerably, so much so that he was pushed to the bench once the Blues signed Olivier Giroud in January.

Olivier Giroud was supposed to play second fiddle to Morata but since his move from Arsenal at the start of the new year the Frenchman has become the first choice striker under Antonio Conte.

Reports suggest that the Stamford Bridge outfit want to offload Alvaro Morata during the summer and are in turn targeting Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi.

Juventus have been linked with Alvaro Morata for some time now and the Turin based outfit want to bring the striker on board after his inspired spell with them a couple of seasons ago.

But now Tuttosport are claiming that Juve are backing away from the move owing to the high transfer tag attached to Alvaro Morata.

The Serie A outfit have come to the conclusion that Morata will be too expensive a buy and they have now shifted their focus to Manchester United forward Anthony Martial.

Martial like Morata has spent most of the last season on the bench and the French International is clearly not a favourite of Jose Mourinho.

The United manager had opted to go with the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford and Martial had to be content with mostly substitute appearances.

Juventus believe they can guarantee Martial a regular first team start which they think should be enough to lure him out from Old Trafford.

We feel that getting Anthony Martial will be anything but easy as Jose Mourinho has clearly stated in the past that the French International is and will be a part of his long-term plans at Old Trafford.
