Liverpool are scheduled to take on Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend and Jurgen Klopp will see the return of several important players for this all-important tie.

The Reds travel to the Etihad Stadium for a Saturday afternoon game and the club has confirmed that Ibrahima Konate, Gravenberch, Jones and Joe Gomez are all available for selection.

Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones and Joe Gomez all missed the 3-0 win against Brentford due to various injuries but the international break has helped them make a full recovery. Konate has also recovered from a hamstring injury which means he will now be pushing Joel Matip for a start alongside Van Dijk this weekend.

Joe Gomez is not expected to get a start but he will be in the matchday squad. Gravenberch, however, will come straight into midfield alongside Dominik Szoboszlai and Mac Allister.

Mac Allister will play as the defensive midfielder and while it’s clear the Argentine international cannot play in that role Klopp has no other option because, after Fabinho’s exit, Liverpool have not been able to replace the Brazilian.

With these four injured players returning to action, Klopp is now without Bajcetic, Thiago and Andy Robertson and in just one week, more than half of the injured players are back in action.

Liverpool are just one point behind leaders Manchester City so a win on Saturday might be enough to take them to the top of the table. The Anfield outfit go into this game at the back of a win over Brentford while City were held to a 4-4 draw by Chelsea right before the international break. City are the slight favourites to win this weekend but the reigning champions are without more than half a dozen first-team players so Pep Guardiola’s team will find it really hard to keep Liverpool’s attackers at bay.
