After making such a fine start to their campaign, all of a sudden Spurs have lost two Premier League games in a row and if they are not careful they could suffer another loss this weekend when they take on a buoyant Aston Villa side.

Tottenham were sitting pretty at the top of the league table but the losses to Chelsea and then Wolves have pushed them to the fourth spot and if Villa get the better of them this weekend then Unai Emery’s men will actually climb up ahead of Spurs.

Spurs have lost their previous two matches against Villa but the form they are in right now, this one should be a comfortable win for Ange Postecoglou’s side – at least on paper.

The North London side cannot afford any more slipups because anything other than a win and even Manchester United will come within touching distance of them and that’s a team who are in complete chaos right now.

Tottenham’s team news and injuries:

Ange Postecoglou is dealing with a long list of injuries as well as suspensions so the Spurs manager will have to name some fringe players in his starting line up on Sunday.

Yves Bissouma and Romero are both suspended while Ivan Perisic is out for the remainder of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.

Micky van de Ven had started the season in top form but he’s also picked up a hamstring injury and as per reports, the defender will be out of action until January. Van de Ven’s injury means Eric Dier will have to come into central defence and pair up with Ben Davies.

Bissouma’s absence means Hojbjerg will come into the side but perhaps the biggest blow for the Spurs manager is the absence of James Maddison.

The playmaker has been the trump card for Spurs this season but he is out for a couple of weeks with an ankle injury. The England international’s unavailability means Lo Celso is the one likely to play in the No 10 role.

Richarlison is also out with a groin injury meaning Brennan Johnson will hold onto his place out on the left wing while Kulusevski operates on the right-hand side.
